Baleen Basket from Alaska with smiling polar bear.
Baleen baskets became popular in the late 40's as part of Native Alaskan
art objects. Available in outposts and along train routes, they are a direct connection
to the remote life in the great wilderness of Alaska.

Baleen comes from the whale and is the way it filters food (krill) from the water.
